Chennai, Mar 6: A man, who got irated due to the increased security check at the airport and uttered the word ‘bomb’ to express his frustration at the IndiGo airline staff was deplaned from the flight immediately.

The security at all the airports in the country is heightened in the wake of the present situation after air strikes on Pakistan. This incident was confirmed by the airlines and said that this occurred at around 7.30 pm on Tuesday during SLPC (Secondary Ladder Point Security) on the flight between Cochin to Bhubaneshwar.

After the initial compulsory security checks are done by the CISF personnel, SLPC check is done once again as a final check up, before boarding the aircraft, on the passengers and their personal baggages by the airline staff.

On the utterance of the word ‘bomb’ by the passenger Alex Mathew, Dog Squad, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad and a Quick Response Team rushed to the boarding point of the aircraft and carried out a thorough inspection of the luggage of the passenger in question. As they could not find anything suspicious, the call was termed as ‘non-specific’. However, the passenger was de-boarded and handed over to the local police station for further investigation.
