Dubai: Konkani Music Album 'Mogachi Lahran Vol 6' Released

Dubai, Feb 13: Young Konkani composer, singer Vincent Fernandes' sixth volume of Konkani music album 'Mogachim Lahran' was released by Fr Eugene, parish priest of Jebel Ali St Assisi Church, UAE on Thursday, Feb 12, 2009 evening at Al Mas Hall Dubai.

The programme, exclusively organized for the release of the album, was well attended by the Konkani well-wishers from around UAE including singers and musicians.

The programme started around 9 pm with prayer from Caroline D'Almeida, followed by brief welcome address by the compere of the event, young, up-and-coming talent Olinda D'souza.

The guests of honour for the event were Fr Eugene from Jebel Ali, Herman Lewis of Radio Spice and Walter Nandalike of Daijiworld.com. JAKC founder president John Monteiro and Vincent Fernandes were also present on the Dias.

Herman Lewis called upon budding Konkani musicians to come out with more such albums and promote Konkani music. He appreciated Vincent's talent and dedication and acknowledged that he was feeling honoured, being a part of the volume as its media promoter.

Walter Nandalike applauded Vincent for his brave move in launching the new project, even in the face of deteriorating economic condition around the world. Though Marker does not favour new projects at this moment, his love for Konkani music could not stop him from releasing new album, he felt.

Earlier, John Monteiro inroduced Vincent Fernandes to the audience and assured his total support in future projects also.

JAKC is the prime promoter of Vincent's volume 6.

Vincent has introduced two new singers in his new volume. They are Yona Fernandes and Melwyn D'Souza.


A brief felicitation programme was also held on the occasion, to acknowledge the singers and musicians of the album. Gulf Voice of Mangalore Dony Correa was felicitated on behalf of JAKC while Roshan Chaco introduced Dony to the audience.

Dubai dance sensation couple Rithesh and Sylvy who participated in the recent Star Plus 'Nach Baliye' was also honored during the event. The couple presented a mind-blowing dance in front of the audience.


Vincent Fernandes thanked every member of the community and his supporters for being with him in his endeavour to bring out the volume. He assured to come out with more musical albums in the near future.
