Riyadh, Feb 15: “The Muslims in India have been left far behind and most often been exploited and browbeaten without getting proper justice and security under any government ever since independence. They have been utilized just for vote bank without being given any political representation either in the state or central legislature”, said K M Shareef, general secretary, Popular Front of India (PFI) while speaking at the 'Sneha Koota' held recently here.

The programme was organized by the PFI, Karnataka-Riyadh unit, as a precursor to the  'National Political Conference'  going on at Calicut in Kerala from Friday February 13 to Sunday February 15.

He emphasized the need for bringing together the backward classes, Dalits, Christians, and others, to work towards getting their constitutional rights and to emerge as a big political power in India. Shareef said that they should launch their own political front to secure proper representation and seats both at the state and Central levels.

Another guest on the dais, Abdul Basheer, co-ordinator, PFI, Riyadh, shed light on the objective of the conference and said that it was to create awareness amongst the marginalized people about their basic rights and to show a roadmap to advancing towards economic and political empowerment in India.

The Sneha Koota saw more than 2,000 people in attendance, mostly Mangaloreans. The prgoramme was presided over by Haris Angaragundi.

Abdul Majeed Vittla, president, PFI Karnataka, Riyadh unit, Mohammed Shareef Jokatte, pesident PFI Karnataka, Dammam unit, and other PFI leaders like Haris Kerala, Fayaz Tamil Nadu, Siddiq Tamil Nadu, social workers, and senior residents like Parvez Katipalla, Nawaz Gurupura, Abbas Uchil, Thahir Kannannur, and Anwar Ullal were the guests present on the stage.

Haris Kalladka sang a melodious song and Hamza Bantwal proposed the vote of thanks.

Good effort by PFI to raise political awareness. Mr.Dusty is carried away without reading the whole news. I feel need of the hour is not to form a new party, which take years to bear fruits!!! It is of prime importance to curb the party which has created nuisense in India after coming to power. "Known Devil is better than unknown God" Let us follow this principle and kill the party which screws the whole notion in the name of religion!!!!!???? It is my opinion.

I totally disagree with the statement that Muslims have been utilized just for the vote bank, and that they have been exploited and browbeaten, without justice since independence. Majority of the hindu`s, and Christians also are in the same boat, they are also not favoured by the Govt or the politicians in anyway.

But they don’t cry and moan like some of the Muslims do. Since this function was held at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a Muslim country, where people of all religions live and work, I would just like to ask a simple question to Mr. K M Shareef, general secretary, Popular Front of India (PFI), to mention just one additional benefit the Muslims in Saudi Arabia, enjoy over the people of other religions. I can answer it for him. "NONE". (Except for the colour of the resident permit) So why blame India, your own mother country, which is one of the homeliest countries in the world for all its citizens, by sitting in a foreign country, instead of coming to India and working hard to make life better for all your bretheren , Hindus – Christians and the Muslims together, instead of thinking only in terms of bettering the Muslims.

I hope Indians, who ever they may be, stop the habbit of blaming India , while they are in a foreign country.

A New Political Front to help the Minorities and backward communities is a welcome move.Which reservation Mr.George Cruz is talking about?.The Muslims are still most backward in India, Educationaly & Economically, according to Justice Sachar Commission. Is there any thing wrong in fighting for one`s rights in a rightful manner?.Let us watch and wait to see the results of PFI`s efforts.PFI is another alternative to be tested , so give them a chance untill you find the best one.

Why only men in these event? Is PFI only for men? Or was it restriction at Saudi? While it is good to see so many people in a faraway land like Saudi are concerned about India, to be honest they look like boys who are bored in Saudi.

The minority communities in India have been offered quota system in terms of education, job opportunities, etc in every walk of life for more than fifty years. It is high time that this QUOTA SYSTEM is abolished. Every Indian should be given an equal opportunity in all walks of life according to their abilities. It is the democratic way and the ONLY WAY.
