25 candidates file nominations for Ghaziabad seat


Ghaziabad, Mar 26 (IANS): Twenty-five candidates of various political parties, including the BJP, the Congress, the SP-BSP alliance and others filed their nomination papers before Assistant Returning Officer Shailendra Kumar Singh for the Ghaziabad parliamentary constituency on Monday.

Ghaziabad will go to polls in the first phase on April 11.

According to officials, Gen. V.K. Singh (BJP), Dolly Sharma (Congress), Suresh Bansal (SP-BSP-RLD combine), Seva Ram Kasana from Shiv Pal Yadav's party PSP, Mohan Lal from RPI and 20 independent candidates filed their nominations.

Singh, in his declaration, mentioned possession of movable and immovable properties worth Rs 1,44,59,843, while his wife Bharti Singh maintained Rs 35 lakh in her bank account.

Dolly Sharma has Rs 87,29,000 in her bank account and her husband Rs 14,87,000 in his name.

Bansal declared Rs 4,23,40,000 in his name and Rs 3.49,0377 in his wife's bank account.

Other contestants are Mahant Divya Yog Maya Saraswati, Nagendra Chaudhary (Shiv Sena), Shamsher Rana, Nathu Singh, Rakesh Suri, Rajesh Singh, Ashok Bharatiya, Mohd Saleem, Geeta Pal Rani, Amit Sharma, Sonu Tomar, Ajay Kumar, Dilshad, Dharmendra, Anil Kumar Giri, Ashok Kumar, Sunil Nayar, Sashi Goel and Manoj Kumar.
