Bengaluru: BJP state in-charge Muralidhar Rao faces fraud case in Telangana

Bengaluru, Mar 28: BJP national general secretary, P Muralidhar Rao, who also happens to be in-charge of BJP affairs in Karnataka, faces a fraud case in Telangana. Muralidhar and eight others have been named in the first information report filed there.

Talla Pravarna Reddy, wife of entrepreneur, Talla Maheepal Reddy from Champapet in Hyderbad filed a complaint in Saroornagar police station in this connection on Monday. She said that these people had cheated her to the extent of Rs 2.17 crore after promising to appoint her as the head of Pharma Excel, a company which falls under the central government's commerce and industry ministry.

On the basis of the complaint, the police have registered complaint against the accused under sections 406, 420, 468, 471, 506,120B of Indian Penal /code and section 156 (3) of Criminal Procedure Code.

In response, Muralidhar Rao has clarified that he is in no way connected with the case. He said that this is an extension of a private complaint filed by some people facing criminal charges in the court. "There is no substance in the allegations. I hope that the police will investigate the case at the earliest and bring out the truth," he said.
