Kasargod, Mar 28: AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, who is also in charge of Congress' fortunes in eastern Uttar Pradesh, will soon be visiting Kasargod.

Priyanka's brother, AICC president Rahul Gandhi had visited Kasargod on March 14, during which he had met families of slain Youth Congress workers Kripesh and Sharathlal. Priyanka is also slated to visit them.

Apart from Priyanka, Punjab MLA Navjot Singh Siddhu, actor Khushbu, Malayalam actor Jagadish, and others are expected to arrive in Kasargod to campaign for the Congress.

Priyanka Gandhi will hold a roadshow in Kasargod, Kannur, and Vadakar Lok Sabha constituencies, sources said.

The double murder of the Youth Congress workers has been the main issue on which the Congress has been canvassing so far.

Congress spokesperson Rajmohan Unnithan is contesting from Kasargod, while KPCC (Kerala) president K Sudhakaran is contesting from Kannur and Congress Kerala election campaign committee president K Muraleedharan from Vadakara. Among these, Kasargod and Kannur are currently in CPM's hand while Vadakara is with Congress. The party has decided to intensify its campaigns in Kasargod and Kannur to wrest power by bringing star campaigners here. The party hopes to win more support through Priyanka's roadshow.
