Udupi: Rotary Shankerpura Organizes Free Health Check-up Camp

Udupi, Mar 5: Rotary Shankerpura, in association with its associate organizations, organized a free medical check-up camp at Kunjarugiri, Madhwanagar here on Sunday March 1.  Over a hundred patients, mostly from rural areas, availed of the services offered at the camp held at Sri Kunjaru Girija Higher Elementary School and got free consultations from specialist doctors from KMC Hospital Manipal.

The camp was sponsored by the family members of the late Marceline D'Souza and the late Salvador D'Souza, Belman. At the function organized before the commencement of the camp, Rotary president PHF Dr Edward Lobo welcomed the guests, specialist doctors and the patients. Inner Wheel president Daphne Lobo in her address informed that her parents Salvador and Marceline mentioned above had lot of concern for the poor, sick and the down-trodden people. She promised to continue with activities for the benefit of the poor sections of the society, which were so dear to her parents, even in future.

Dr Sunil Krishna from KMC Hospital Manipal called upon the villagers to avail of free medical benefits offered by KMC and appreciated the concern shown by the Rotary members towards the plight of the less fortunate.

Rajivi B Shetty, Sudhakar Shetty, Rtn PHF R V Prabhu, Rtn PHF Anantram Bhat etc., were present on the occasion and guided the participants of the camp.
