Bangalore: Yeddyurappa-Ananth Kumar Fight for LS Seats - Put BJP in Trouble
TNN
Bangalore, Mar 6: Even before it could finalise candidates for all the 28 Lok Sabha segments, the ruling BJP has received a setback in Karnataka. Two senior leaders — chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and BJP national general secretary Ananth Kumar — entrusted with the job of mustering at least 20 seats in the ensuing polls, are at loggerheads, again.
The fresh round of spat between the two resulted in Kumar keeping away from the party's Karnataka election committee meeting on Wednesday and also Central Parliamentary Board meeting in New Delhi on Thursday.
The bone of contention is the state unit recommending the names of Yeddyurappa's son B Y Raghavendara (Shimoga), Ramesh V Katti, brother of horticulture Umesh V Katti (Chikkodi); Shivakumar Udasi, son of PWD minister C M Udasi (Haveri) and Shanti, sister of health minister B Sriramulu (Bellary). Kumar is said to have stoutly opposed giving tickets to kin of party leaders.
