Robert Vadra counters Arun Jaitley, posts pictures with him on Facebook

New Delhi, Apr 9: UPA president Rahul Gandhi's brother-in-law Robert Vadra, on Tuesday dismissed Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's jibe at him for saying he will be campaigning for Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Jaitley said as a reaction to Vadra's statement, "I do not know if he (Vadra) will be an asset for the campaign of the Congress party or for the campaign of BJP."

In response to Jaitley’s comment, Vadra wrote on Facebook: "One must maintain respect and decorum in every situation. It shows character and that is what I was taught by my parents and in sport. Healthy competition will only bring out the best in a person that people will judge. Best wishes to all for the bright future the people of India need."

Vadra also tagged a few old photographs in his post in which he can be seen alongside Jaitley. In one of the images, he can be seen shaking hands with Jaitley. The same image was used by Vadra in April last year to wish Jaitley a speedy recovery when he fell ill.

Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani too took a potshot of Vadra. She told ANI, "I just want to say that wherever Robert Vadra wants to campaign, people of that place should save their lands."

Robert Vadra is at present under scanner of the enforcement directorate and the CBI for purchase of a London based property and for his land dealings in Haryana and Rajasthan.
