Puttur, Mar 18:  Two people were injured, one of whom is critical, after a gang of eight people attacked them at Nehru Nagara in Puttur.

Badruddin Musliar and Abdulla are the injured brothers and the former is unconscious and has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore with injuries to the head and stomach.

Abdulla is undergoing treatment in a private hospital here. Badruddin is the ‘Musliar’ in a mosque nearby.

The group entered their home and tried to burn it down. It is said that the members of the gang wore masks to conceal their identity and stabbed the brothers.

Mangalore: Five Arrested; Section 144 Continues in Puttur

Fifteen people have been arrested in connection with the violence that occurred in Puttur, said Dr Subrahmanyeswara Rao, superintendent of police, Dakshina Kannada, on Wednesday March 18 in the city.

“Of the fifteen, one has been arrested for the assault on students while the others have been apprehended for their involvement in the violence that took place thereafter. Four others involved in the assault are absconding. We are thinking of charging those involved in moral policing under the Goonda”, added Dr Rao.

Deputy commissioner (DC) V Ponnuraj said, “We will take stringent action against moral policing and also those arrested in such cases. The action will be discussed later. It could either be the Goonda Act or expulsion from the district”.

when a property is divided among brothers they usually take their share and move . they r not expected to leave their children with other brother. even if other brother is good and allow his children to be with them then these children r supposed to live in harmony not by claiming that family's properties and killing them.

Hinduism is good. But Fanatics are bad whether they are Hindus, Christians or Muslims. Everybody wants peace so only love, peace will bring back olden glorry of South canara. Most of these communal voilance is created by Politicians. Samajotsava is good must be done every day but without political motives.

If Mr. Acharya wants to attend let other political leaders also attend. Recent days Political parties taking religious gathering for their party benefits which must be stoped. Then only peace will prevail. JAI KARNATAKA

The State Government instead of putting a stop to this nonsense appears to be openly encouraging this INTERNAL TERRORISM. Sorry to say that we are now in an anarchy and are being ruled by criminals and ignorant religious psychopaths. Everyone should be aware that such type of violence is like a double edged sword and will cut in all directions.

we cannot expect justice , peace and tranquility in Karnataka under the present BJP Govt. Leaders of the present Govt. are talking in favor of one particular community and instigating the violence? how we can trust the dept. In every incident it is clear that communal elements of sangh parivar are involved. Eventhough Govt. know the fact of goondaism of Bajrang Dal and others, failed to invoke Goonda agaisnt those criminals. We are sure that Most of Hindus are peace loving and have been living peacefully with most respect to other's religion, even they cannot tolerate these heinous crime against humanity. every one should maintain utmost patience and try to educate the people by creating condusive atmosphere.

Karnataka is truly following Gujarat in communual issues. This is nothing but repetition of Godhra issue and buring of muslim houses in Gujarat. If this RSS managed groups dont want muslims and christians to live in India, please give our share of land. Pakistan is formed for Pakis. At that time many  muslims volunteered to live in India loving their motherland. Now we are unofficially 28% of Indian population and give us our share of 28% of Indian land so that we live in peace.
