Mangalore, Mar 20: The Minority Morcha of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday March 19 accused the Congress of plotting to create communal tensions in coastal Karnataka ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, by using the activists of the Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD).
Addressing media persons at the BJP office, Franklin Montero, convener, district Minority Morcha, alleged that it has come to light that Congress workers and the members of KFD have been involved in the stone pelting incident against Hindu Samajostava participants on Sunday March 15, that were reported from Kaup, Polipu, and other parts of the region.
“The accused were involved in anti-social activities on directions received from Congress leaders. The communal clash in Puttur and the vandalizing of banana plantation of Nithyadhar Church in Permannur also was with the same motto”, he said.
Criticizing the Congress for creating tensions in order to gain political mileage, Montero urged the district administration to impose Goonda Act against those who were involved in the clashes.
