Mangaluru: People turn anxious over unattended black bag at airport

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Apr 25: A black bag that was found unclaimed near the car parking area at the exit road of the international airport here on Wednesday April 24 made the people panicky for some time.

In view of the blasts in Sri Lanka, checking of passengers has been intensified at the airport. Still the orphaned black bag found in the airport premises gave rise to apprehension among the officials, after it was found at about 12.15 pm between the barricades.

After the bag was left unattended for about 45 minutes, the Central Industrial Security Force staff who are in charge of the security, began to take precautionary steps. Initially, people were barred from going near the bag. Sniffer dogs and bomb disposal squad were summoned. During the verification, the staff found that no suspicious items were inside the bag after which the security staff took the bag inside.

It is not as yet known if someone inadvertently dropped the bag when taking away their luggage home, or the passengers, in a hurry to catch their flight, forgot to pick the bag.

Why so much anxeity?where are security personal?Usually a cctv camera should be there at the entrance or outgoing gate.Take some time and watch who all pssed at that time.Look if any names tage or so .when not locked can also look for any names inside.otherwise when no costly things are inside ,can be filed keep inside .

Here in Mangalore after the Srl Lankan blasts should tighten security in place of worship, political rallies and etc. We should have metal detectors in places of worship. Surprisingly in shopping malls there are metal detectors.

Anything could have happened. Thank God that Central Industrial Security Force staff did not find any suspicious items in the bag. Prevention is better than cure. After the Sri Lanka bomb blast. people are scared to even go outside.

..security agencies alone cant protect us..let us be vigiliant..let us not forget that Srilanka attack was done by 'TN/KERALA/LANKA' module..they planned Easter attack in TN also..it was busted 3 weeks before, Indian govt gave name of terrorist, address, church & hotel details..if atleast Lankan govt warned people, this could have been averted..we can see terrorists carrying heavy back pack, while all others in church/Hotel empty hand around..if people alerted about suspicious movemnt of individuals, they could have sensed danger/ damaged could have been contained..
