Mangalore, Mar 29: A beauty of Mangalorean origin, Shrima Rai, who was the first runner-up in the prestigious ‘Gladrags Mrs India 2009’ contest held recently in Mumbai, was in the city on Saturday March 28.

She had also won the ‘Best Model’ award in the same contest.

Addressing a press conference in the city, she shared her achievement, experiences, and the secret of her success.

“Health has always been my first priority. With the help of yoga and a diet I have managed to keep my body at a consistent level”, said Shrima.

Hailing from a well-known Bunt family, her father Bellipady Nemiraj Rai was a scientist in the USA and her mother Vishali Rai was a lab technician, also in the USA. The family is now settled in Nitte, Karkala.

Shrima is married to Aditya Rai, a businessman settled in Mumbai. Incidentally, Srima is related to former Miss World and Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai.

Shrima works with Standard Chartered Bank in Mumbai.

She attributes her success to her husband and family who always inspired her to success in her professional life. Srima said that given the opportunity, she was ready to try her luck in Bollywood also.

Unfortunately many ladies call this not an achievemnt or she she has not made bunts proud !! Whatever it is these comments look like you are uttering are out of frustration, that an young lady has won best model award ! Is it not an achivement...! Keeping best figure and concentrating on beauty is not an achievement....? As long as her husband and Family is happy , who are you to comment like what you have done !

Just walking on the ramp  seductively does not make achievment for any community. Plz stop giving the tag saying she makes Bunts proud.. There are lot many bunts who deserve publicity than this ramp model.

I partly agree with A S Mulky's comment. If Miss India doesn't know to cook , is it ok ? Only for Mrs. India it is a MUST ? Look at the way how media is highlighting this as an ACHIVEMENT and all mangaloreans are feeling proud of it. Simply walking on the ramp and wearing seductive clothes will not make a woman , woman of substance. The real woman of substance is the home maker. Now a days there are many women who manage their family as well as career at their best. We should learn to recognise and appreciate them.
