'He taught terror has no religion': Karkare's daughter brushes aside Pragya's remark

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji (MS)

Panaji, Apr 28: Jui Navare, daughter of late Hemant Karkare, chief of Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad, who lost his life in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack has said that all Indians should remembers that her father tried to protect the city and the country even in his death. She also stressed that for him, his uniform and love for the country came ahead of his own life and family.

Navare was responding to the recent statement given by 2008 Malegaon blast accused and present candidate of BJP in the Lok Sabha elections, Sadhvi Pragya Thakur on her martyred father in social media. Navare said that she does not want to dignify Sadhvi or the statement given by her about her father. She said, "Ï only want to talk about my father. He was a role model and his name should be taken with dignity."

"Hemant Karkare taught that there is no religion associated with acts of terrorism. No religion professes killing of people. This ideology needs to be defeated. He helped each and every one in his career spanning 24 years in the police department. Even at the time of his death he was trying to save his city and country. For him, his uniform had place higher than that of his family members and his own life. I just want everyone to remember Hemant for that," added Navare from her home in the United States.

Jui Navare (38), is settled in the USA with her husband and two daughters. She is the eldest daughter of Karkare's three children.

In her recent statement after being nominated as the BJP candidate for the Lok Sabha elections of 2019, Sadhvi Pragya Thakur had said that Hemant Karkare, who was leading the investigation of the Malegaon blast case in which she is one of the accused, died because she cursed him.

Hemant Karkare had arrested 11 people, including Sadhvi Pragya in the Malegaon blast case in October 2008, barely a month before the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

According to Navare, Hemant Karkare was completely engrossed in the investigation of the Malegaon blast case and his wife, mother of Navare was scared of his life as she knew that he was handling a very sensitive case that had severe implications. Karkare's wife died in 2014 due to brain haemorrhage.

Defending her father Jui Navare said, "I fully affirmed his findings in the case. I was damn sure that whatever my father did was correct. He always went by the rules and regulations. As a daughter I knew him very well. He always ensured justice. It was obvious for me but I never spoke about it."

I salute the late Hemant Karkare for his bravery and patriotism. At the same time, I condemn Pragya and all anti nationals like her. I also castigate the decision taken to field her in the elections. I have no hesitation in saying that the national interest was not kept in mind while choosing her to contest the elections. I sincerely hope and pray that whoever tries to divide the country on the basis of religion should not win the elections.

No one did damage to Hindu religion more than the present saffron clad political leaders belong to a political party, who follow one particular ideology....!!!

If we extrapolate and analyse the reported incidents, statements & the developments for the past couple of years..., probably look like, slowly & steadily the Hindustan going to make Hindu religion one of the most fearful one...,

Though I beg to differ.., coz... after all LORD BRAHMA knows how to take care of his people & his creation.....!!!!

Modi in 2014 declared that there will be no place in BJP for terror suspects and criminals yet BJP is known to have highest number of criminals and now has taken this woman as a candidate. This clearly shows that he has one rule for BJP another for others. She is already making controversial statements and also ignorant statements like cows urine clears cancer. What can people gain by electing a person like her?. Modi’s defence of her was that she is good for opposing congress. What kind of reasoning is this?.

What Sadhvi said about Late Karkare Sahab has no meaning and she has made most irresponsible and derogatory statement about the decorated martyr. What the national ruling party has done in fielding Sadhvi for election is more greater insult to late Karkare Sahab's sacrifice for the nation and of course his family's irreversible loss.
Only God has to deliver the justice and HE will one day.

There are fanatics in every religion. There are people with criminal mind set in every society. History is testimony to it and it is the same that exists since centuries. Bible says angel's themselves fought for superiority and therefore, God separated them as Angels and Devils. Ramayana, first culprit is shurpanaki, with illegitimate ambitions, that created the mess. Mahabharata, there is similar instances of greed and power. So it happens every where and finally there is a course correction by nature. When such greed, crime and arrogance, grows beyond few minimum to majority, then nature takes the lead, and corrects the course with mass destruction.

So the key is with the people, whether they wish to be side knowing fully it is wrong or they stand for truth. When the majority tilts towards wrong, nature has its way.

Great Police officer late Hemant Karkare.
Man of principles and had abundant respect for our constitution, laws and for the nation.
Person who is too close to the tribe/ race / religion, he / she belonging, bound to overlook the rules and favour to his/ her community.
But for Hemant Karkare, country and rules came first always!

You are absolutely right. It further proves by BJP supporters' thinking that those who don't support BJP aren't Hindus and are anti-nationals. I wonder when they changed Indian constitution to make India a Hindu nation.

National/anti-nationalism is judged by a citizen's party affiliation. In India if one is Hindu, he must support BJP to prove his religion, else (supporting any other party) he is anti-national and automatically becomes a non-Hindu.

    Very contradicting analysis.
