Rahul Gandhi apologises to SC for incorrect attribution of 'chowkidar' remark

New Delhi, Apr 30 (IANS): Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday apologised to the Supreme Court for incorrectly attributing the "chowkidar chor hai" remark to the top court.

His counsel Abhishek Manu Singhvi offered the apology on behalf of Gandhi, a day after the Congress President filed a reply to the apex court's notice on the issue, in which he had only expressed regret for the comments.

In his affidavit, Gandhi said he had made the remark in the "heat of campaigning" and that his comment was not meant to scandalise the court in any manner.

The top court had last week issued a notice to him asking him to explain his comment.

SC chief judges are working in favour whichever Govt in place and showing their loyality to their supreme master. Even Rafale corruption will also be protected by SC unless new Govt in place at the time hearing. Almost all Govt institutions are playing in the hands of Govt. Including judiciary.

Apology is the right thing. Rahul should not have attributed the remark "Chowkidar Chor Hai" to Supreme Court. It is Rahul's own remark, not that of the Supreme Court. Now apology has solved the problem.

SC is trying to give protective cover to pull something onto itself. SC asking Rahul why he referred Supreme Court as chowkidar chor hai.

Entire world knows who was chowkidar in his remarks and why he called chorus?

Never he accused SC. Now that SC is taking on it, he is apologizing and telling it was not SC in anyway he referred to. What is wrong in that?

Of course RG did not accuse or abuse the SC. But he said “chowkidar chor hai” attributing it to the SC. He publicly stated that SC had said “PM is a thief,” which is not true. Why should he drag the SC in his statement? Hon. CJ of SC has never said Chowkidar chor hai. So RG attributing his statement to the SC is contempt of Court for which he is bound to apologise.

SC did not also specifically gave clean chit to Modi Govt saying there was no corruption? Did it? All it said it won't get into price issue but found nothing wrong in terms of procedural lapses, based on the now noted fake documents presented by BJP govt.

Yet, Modi led BJP claimed SC has given them clean chit. Why did not SC took any offense of that bogus claim? Is offenses are subjective?
