CBSE Class XII results 2019 announced, girls outshine boys

New Delhi, May 2: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced its Class 12 results on Thursday, May 2.

The overall pass percentage has declared as 83.4%, a slight improvement against last year’s 83.01%.

The best performing region was Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala with a pass percentage of 98.2% The Chennai region was second with 92.93% followed by Delhi with 91.87%.

Hansika Shukla and Karishma Arora are the joint toppers for the exam are with 499 marks out of 500. Girls, like in previous years, performed better than boys by 9%. Some 88.70% of girls passed, followed by transgenders at 83.3% and boys at 79.4%. Kendriya Vidyayala Schools had a pass perentage of 98.54%, Tibetan schools were at 96%, government-aided schools were at 88.49% and private schools were the lowest of the lot at 82.59%. The board had conducted the Secondary Examination (Class 10) and Higher Secondary Examination (Class 12) for the academic session year 2018-19 in February-March 2019. Around 13 lakh students appeared for the Class 12 examination conducted by the CBSE.

A total of 31,14,821 candidates had registered for Class 10 and Class 12 board examination this year. The exams were held at 4,974 centres across India and 78 centres abroad.

Students can now check the results of CBSE Class 12 Arts, Science and Commerce students on the official website of the Board - cbse.nic.in. The students who appeared for the class 12 exam 2019 can also check their result on other websites like - cbse.examresults.netcbseresults.nic.in and results.gov.in.
