Mangaluru: Notorious thief arrested, items worth Rs 1.87 lac seized

Mangaluru, May 3: Police, on May 2, arrested notorious thief Prasad Poojary (23), who allegedly entered and committed thefts at night in Advaith JCB and United Toyota showroom, at Padil in Kankanady police station limits.

Prasad Poojary already has several cases of attempted murder and thefts in many police stations. He was sentenced for theft in 2014.

He also has night theft case pending in Venur police station and Srirangapatna rural police station in Mandya.He has cases of theft in railway quarters at night in Kankanady police station limits, thefts at night in Advaith JCB showroom and United Toyota showroom, two theft cases in shops at Mangaluru north police station, Yedapadavu panchayat office and Chowta’s gas agency in Bantwal rural police station limits. He has three cases pending in Moodbidri police station.

Out of the thefts in seven places, three laptops, four tabs, three mobiles, two gold bangles, cash locker, one camera, tools including lever, torch, mask and iron rod have been seized from him. The total value of items seized from him is Rs 1, 87,000.

    So now you see how dedicate they are for a formal complain.
    When he robbed JCB & Tyota showrooms then police became active

    He was waiting for 72000 rupees per year . But he lost his cool and started his profession which he has mastered. May be his face was captured by CCTV hidden cameras and he was caught . Great work by dk police and crime branch
