Bengaluru, May 5: An infamous rowdy and murderer who carried several cases on his head, was killed by his wife and her friend on the night of Thursday, May 2.

Edwin (34), who was booked in various cased under Adugodi police station limits, was killed by his wife Sujatha and her friend, also neighbouir Sridhar, in L R Nagar near Adugodi in the city.

According to the police, Edwin used to ill-treat his wife on a daily basis. Sujatha who could not take the torture of Edwin anymore, stabbed him in the stomach in the company of her friend Sridhar. Edwin was involved in many cases of murder, attempt to murder and dacoity. He wanted to shift his base to Chennai as he was scared that the cops might get hold of him in Karnataka and was pestering Sujatha also to accompany him to Chennai.

As Sujatha was not willing to shift to Chennai with Edwin, he left the city and was residing in Chennai. Sujatha was living with her parents in the city. In the midst of this development, Sridhar, a daily wage labourer by profession, started to live in a rented house for the past six months in L R Nagar and got acquainted to Sujatha.

On the night of Thursday, May 2, Edwin had come to the city from Chennai and repeatedly torturing Sujatha and asking her to come to Chennai with him. A fight broke between the two as Sujatha was utterly against going to Chennai with Edwin. Sridhar, who saw this fight, intervened and stabbed Edwin with the help of Sujatha. Sujatha had confided in Sridhar about the torture Edwin was meting out on her and he was also waiting for an opportunity to kill him. Sridhar had purchased a new knife only for this purpose.

Both Sujatha and Sridhar are arrested by the Adugodi police station cops on Friday, May 3.
