Mangaluru, May 6: Rizwan (45), a native of Shivajinagar in Bengaluru and presently residing in Deralakatte on the outskirts of the city drowned in the sea at Mogaveerapatna near Ullal on Sunday, May 5. Though the members of the local lifeguard swimmers association searched for his body frantically, they could not locate the same.

Rizwan used to work in a company in Deralakatte that used to manufacture ladies footwear. He was residing in Deralakatte since the past four years. On Friday, his friend Ayub had arrived from Bengaluru. As Sunday was a holiday, Rizwan and his friend Ayub had visited the Darga in Ullal. After offering the prayers in the Darga, both of them were playing with the waves at the beach at Mogaveerapatna. Suddenly Rizwan was pulled by some strong wave into the sea. HIs friend immediately screamed for help. The lifeguards and home guards present on the beach rushed immediately to the spot but could not save Rizwan.

It is said that the local lifeguard swimmers and fishermen had gone for lunch and that is why the rescue operation was delayed.

Rizwan is survived by his sister.

Search is on to locate the body of Rizwan.

A case in this regard stands registered in Ullal police station.
