Panaji, May 8: Bhurgeanchem Fest, a festival for Children, was celebrated on Tuesday at Divar Island by non-profit organization Uzwaad in association with legendary conservationist Marius Fernandes.
The festival which is one-of-its-kind in entire India received whopping response from the participants, and also intellectuals, who enlightened the Generation Y about our rich heritage.
Eminent historian Prajal Sakhardande delivered a lecture on “History and Heritage of Divar” for the participants.
The activities like Dance, Singing by Rizel Fernandes, Craft and Painting by Savio Godinho, Tiatr (Michael Jude Gracias), Football (Fabian D’Souza) were conducted.
The members of Uzwaad including Ketan Halankar, Sahil Naikk, Kenan Carmo Savio Vaz, Saidutt Naik, Albert Rodrigues, Diksha Fatarpekar, Gauthami Kundaikar, Jasmine Diana Ferreira, Veda Desai, Gayatri Halarnkar also interacted with the students.
Later the children were directed towards the courtyard where they sang "Mando" to the tunes of Ghumat played by Diksha Fatarpekar and of the Madale played by Ketan Halankar.
