Puttur: Janardhan Poojary has a Word of Advice for Sadanand Gowda

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Apr 9: "I have some words of advice for BJP state president and MP D V Sadanand Gowda. Age-wise, I am much elder to him. I do not nurse any enmity towards him. I will pass on my advice, which will be out of concern and affection, to him through a press conference to be convened in Mangalore later," said Congress Party Lok Sabha candidate from Dakshina Kannada constituency, Janardhan Poojary.

He was addressing a meeting of the local assembly constituency-level Congress workers, held here on Wednesday April 8.

Poojary advised the BJP to apply brakes on its scandalous campaign against the Congress based on falsehood and asked it to get involved with honest politics. He also demanded for the release of a white paper on the development works executed by the BJP government. He reiterated that the Congress Party has always stood for peace, co-existence and peace and never tried to incite one group against the other. Humanity and mutual trust have been the hallmarks of Indian culture, he added, denouncing the rude threats emanating from some quarters, to chop of hands, neck etc.

He lambasted the BJP for seeking to follow the politics of convenience with dubious means, in the name of religion and for spreading malicious propaganda that he had violated the code of conduct by seeking votes in temple. The Congress Party that has been adhering to norms and code of conduct, does not need to learn anything from the BJP, he retorted. He also called upon the people to defeat the BJP that seeks to divide the society on issues like Hindutva and religion.

Senior leader B Sankappa Rai presided. District Women's Congress wing president Mamata Gatti and M S Mohammed too addressed the workers. District Congress president B Ramanath Rai, Bondala Jagannath Shetty, Nityanand Mundody, Kallige Taranath Shetty, Shahul Hameed etc., were present. Several JD(S) and BSP workers joined the Congress Party at the programme.

Block Congress president A Hemnath Shetty welcomed. Nooruddin Salmara presented the programme.

Many of the commentators here are arguing that Poojari built Kudroli temple. Then my question is when did he earn that much money to build a temple? I firmly believe that temple is built using public and devotees contributions. Other than temple building what are his other contributions to developments?

Only loan melas or anything else also? Also many of commentators are telling BJP candidates or supporters to talk on development issues. Why don't they tell same thing to Poojari? Where in the report Poojari is talking about development?

As far as comments on becoming spokesperson of a party is concerned all of the commentators here seems to be spokesperson of one or the other party. Finally, I consider all parties are equally casteist or communal as they favour one or the other community and many times more than one communities at the cost of other communities. Jai Poojari, Jai Ho.

Nagesh Nayak, Gujarat was a most developed and industrialized state even before Modi came into power  As a matter of fact all he has done is added a little more gloss to the brand Gujarat and taken the credit for it. Secondly Mr. Poojary has never entered a mosque or church to seek votes on the contrary he began his campaiging from the famous Kudroli temple. It appears that you are following Nazi propaganda chief Joseph Gobbeler's principle of repeating a lie umpteen times, so that it will stick.

Nagesh why are u so mean and cheap. Mr. Poojary never ever asked votes in mosques and churches. To enter the mosque it has its own rules. Church door is open to anybody. Church is a place of worship and not a place of vote seeking. You are prejudiced and suspicious in every action of Mr. Poojary.

No one can change your thinking as you have to change it. If u remain in the same way it is your wish. But I have supported Mr. Poojary for last 32 yrs and he has never ever entered church to seek votes. Jai Ho. Jai Hind

Mr Nayak, If you come from Bangalore please know this...Mr Poojary is a Hindu. Secondly we should not comment from 400kms accusing a person of seeking votes in church/Mosque. Thirdly, i read the article and what is said is that BJP has been trying to bring in religion with politics. Now this is a sensitive matter as religion causes many to get very senti.

Politics is about governance of the land where everyone should have equal opportunity to education, work, food, shelter. Religion is a personal belief and should remain so. Mangaloreans are peaceful and its strange last year or so we see these nonsense of moral policing and religion coming into fray. If you are happy and living peacefully in bangalore so also do wish the same for Mangaloreans by opposing those who are playing the religious card.

Hello Nagesh, what happened to your CAPS. Any problem with your keyboard. Please understand one thing whatever party forms government they should lead the country to development and not get into religious matters which cause communal voilence. Communal violence rapidly grown only in BJP ruled states and not anywhere else in India.

We need human culture which respect each other as well as other religions to live a peaceful life. I do agree that Congress has not done great great things when they were ruling the country, but present PM Mr. MMS is the best PM which India ever seen.
