New Delhi, May 25: After a long pause, the infamous cow vigilante groups are back, this time at Seoni in Madhya Pradesh. A video circulating online shows a group of gau rakshaks beating up three Muslims including a woman over a rumour of them carrying beef.
A group of self-proclaimed gau rakshaks received a tip-off that two Muslim youths and a woman were carrying beef and travelling in an auto.
A video went viral showing the assailants beating the youths with sticks. They even held the youths to a tree one by one and beat them up viciously as the witnesses stood by.
As per India Today report, later, the victims alleged that they were forced to say slogans of 'Jai Shree Ram'. The goons even forced one of the youths to beat the woman who was accompanying them.
Condemning the incident, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said, "This is how Muslims are treated by Vigilantes created by Modi voters."
Police have arrested one person, and a case has been registered, while search is on to snitch the other accused.
