CWC rejects Rahul's offer to quit as Congress chief

New Delhi, May 25 (IANS): Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday offered to resign from the post owning moral responsibility of the party's loss in 2019 general elections.

He made the offer at the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meet held here to discuss the reasons for the party's abysmal performance in the elections.

The CWC members, however, rejected Rahul Gandhi's offer.

    Rahul should not quit.
he is the star campaigner for the BJP.
without him, 303 seats would not have been possible.

My opinion is CWC should accept Rahul's resignation as the opposition will not abe to attack the congress prarty as dyanastic party. Let Rahul concentrate on Waynad's development and will definitely bear fruits in the future. Unfortnately, Rahul will miss his friends particularly Jyotiraj, etc.
This election was won by Modi on communal lines rather than development issues.

Is it because when paper ballots were there, there was no rigging?
My friend, accept reality and face it. Congress will not improve if blame for failure is put on EVM.

The verdict has brought some Welcome Changes and Established Certain Facts.
    1. Earlier even a bottle of Hooch could buy a vote, this time even Rs 72,000/- couldn’t.
    2. Patriotism may be preferred over Nationalism. But in the absence of patriotism, people chose Nationalism...over Castesism, Communalism and Appeasement.
    3. Calling the PM names, without proofs, will backfire.
    4. People prefer a leader coming from roots, over a dynast coming from top.
    5. Mix of ideologies is NO ideology, but a bad intent. If a party can compromise it's ideology to defeat a particular person, it can compromise anything tomorrow. So they lost.
    6. One should fight elections with a vision and not just to remove a particular person, without credible reasons.
    7. No, exit polls were not paid by stock exchanges.
    8. For those claiming that it's the loss of Secularism. My definition of Secularism is taking everyone along and keeping a common eye for all. It never was ridiculing Majority and appeasing Minority.
    9. If leadership is strong and good, one will win. Hail Amrinder.
    10. Hatred was a narrative woven by those out of power and they finally lost. People could read. Lynchings used to happen, earlier too. But the real dividers chose to connect it to a community, and kept the mouth shut in otherwise cases. Finally the truth triumphed.
A clear mandate symbolises victory of Democracy. Let's celebrate it.

    Thank you India.

Not only you, even opposition(BJP) would like Rahul to be continued as party president so that BJP can keep winning future elections.
What a shame on family driven , so called national party. Even now congress not realizing(or helpless) poor/no leadership is prime reason for parties continuous poor performance. Amazing loyalty. Anyways, good for the country.

I think CWC includes Antony, Venugopal, Diggi, Surjewala, Oscar and Moily!!
High command Bhajana Mandali never wants Congress to come back to life again. If it was not for these, Congress would have had a non -Gandhi President and would have given a strong fight to BJP in this election!
