4.8-magnitude quake strikes Bengal


Kolkata, May 26 (IANS): An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale struck West Bengal's Bankura district on Sunday, authorities said.

According to Regional Meteorological Centre Kolkata, the earthquake occurred at 10.39 a.m. at a depth of 10 kilometres in Bankura region.

Tremors were felt in Purulia, Jhargram and other adjoining areas.
