Daijiworld Media Network - Koppal (MS)

Koppal, May 29: In a heart-wrenching story that is reported from here a six-year-old girl child is forced to beg on streets in order to provide food to her mother who is admitted into a hospital since a week.

Bhagyashree is the child who is seeking alms on the streets with the public in order to save her mother Durgamma who is ill and in the hospital.

When questioned, Bhagyashree said, "I have only my mother as support as my father has left us. As I do not have money, I am forced to beg and feed my mom who is admitted in hospital."

Durgamma is an alcoholic for which she is being treated at the hospital. The girl's father has left his wife due to her habit of drinking and is married to some other woman.

Bhagyashree caught the eye of the people visiting the hospital as she is seen in the premises of the hospital seeking alms since a week. She also takes care of her mother's hygiene. The kind-hearted public brought the plight of this little girl to the attention of the administration of the hospital, which in turn conveyed the same to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).

The CMO has asked the Women and Child Welfare department to take care of the woman and ensure their safety once the treatment is over. In addition, the CMO has instructed the concerned department to ensure good education for the child as per the information given by Eranna Panchal, Joint director of women and children welfare department.

Giving further details Panchal said, "The woman was in a bad shape when she was brought to the hospital. She hails from Karatagi Siddapura. She also has a son who is studying in the fourth standard. We are getting more information about the family from him. Free education will be given to the girl in a government school and the cost of the treatment of her mother will also be borne by the department."

Just sending money to their account is of no use .. who knows those are little kids and they dont even know what to do with the cash.. and someone might misuse the cash ... some one should provide them shelter and food and later education as without shelter or some one to take care and love them education is useless... they are babies.... they need pure love and care

It is very kind of the authorities to take notice of the situation and come forward to help. Hope the situation will be resolved and the mother will be taken cae of people who will try and ensure that she gives up her alcoholic traits and tries to work and take care of her children.

It is amazing that the child brought the attention of the public to the situation.

Wife is alcoholic so husband left her. Why did he leave this angel with this drunkard mother...? For him urgency of second marriage.. This infant is his own body and blood right? Catch hold of the father and ask him to take the responsibility of this angel.. This is no time for him to re marry and enjoy like a bride groom.. Idiot like him... Before hospitalisation also, this mother must have been sending this baby to beg, where mother was unable to cook and do household chores...such situation should not arise in any child's life.. .. May god protect and save this child in her every step of her growing age.

Cynthi kirem,it is too late for him to catch and bring back to his old wife.He is already gone and has his pleasure without previous wife. One who loves a family takes care of them ,sick or healthy,.he must have taken the boy?Now that their care is being secured ,need not come again bring his new family to mingle and take off their bread.Again wife will atart to drink if he comes.Probably he too is a drunker and wife too started. This is really a very sensitive case and heart wrenching..Doesnt it show that girls do care for mother or father?than boys.?May be due to girls begging brought more attention to her mother ,otherwise no fly was interested in hospital?why did she dont get food there?Hope it takes a good end to them.wish mother good health and girl a better shine in life.

Mother’s drinking habit has brought the child to this position. It can be literally translated as her child is beginning because her mother is alcoholic. It doesn’t stop there but her husband snub is also related to same .
Mothers are precious but she is curse .

It is really sorry state of affairs for the six-year-old girl is begging for food to feed her ailing mother who has been admitted to a hospital. It would have been better if someone who saw her plight could inform the concerned authorities who could take care of the situation. I am sure there are many organizations who can help this girl. It is a shame.

Actually look at the state how our developed state is behaving. Absolutely no generosity towards the downtrodden & hungry. Politicos made money out of Indira canteens, the real hungry are still hungry and poor
