Bengaluru, Jun 2: Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has instructed all the concerned officials to take the necessary measure to implement the programmes declared in the state budget and also to manage the drought situation in the state.

Kumaraswamy, who came out of the after effects of shocking defeat of the party in the recently held Lok Sabha elections and also anxious moments spent on a possible 'Operation Lotus', held discussion in this regard with chief secretary T M Vijaybhaskar on Saturday, June 1.

The CM instructed the chief secretary to call a meeting of deputy commissioners and CEOs of zilla panchyats for the implementation of the programmes declared in the state budget and also managing the drought situation in the state more efficiently. He also directed the chief secretary to ask the concerned officials to find out the reasons, if there is a delay in implementing the programmes declared by the government.

Kumaraswamy said, "Priority should be given for the implementation of schemes pertaining to health and housing. Attention should be given towards providing better service to the public in government hospitals. Assuring that the housing scheme is allotted only to the eligible beneficiaries. Priority should be given for handling garbage and providing basic infrastructure in city areas."

"More emphasis should be given for education. Action should be taken to improve the infrastructure of schools and colleges in order to ensure good quality of education," added the chief minister.

H D Kumaraswamy also got details of the starting of English medium schools run by government and asked the chief secretary to ensure that very good quality education is provided in these schools.
