People brave heavy rain as they welcome Rahul Gandhi to Wayanad

Kozhikode, Jun 7 (IANS): Congress President Rahul Gandhi, who was elected to the Lok Sabha from Wayanad constituency in Kerala, arrived here on Friday afternoon as thousands gathered to welcome him, braving heavy rain.

Gandhi, who contested from two parliamentary seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections -- Amethi in Uttar Pradesh and Wayanad -- won from Wayanad with a record margin of 431,770 votes.

The Congress President arrived at the Kozhikode airport at around 2.45 p.m. and was received by state Congress President Mullapally Ramachandran, Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala and top leaders from the Indian Union Muslim League.

Starting Friday, Gandhi will be conducting road shows in each of the seven Assembly constituencies in Wayanad, over a period of three days.

His first road show was at Kallikavu, which forms part of the Wandoor Assembly segment in Malappuram district.

Arriving in a convoy of 100 vehicles, Gandhi, accompanied by senior party leaders, was in an open vehicle and despite heavy rain, thousands of people waited cheerfully to see him.

He assured the people that Wayanad's issues would be raised in the Lok Sabha.

Gandhi's next stop was Nilambur which was a similar sight as thousands of people, including women and children, waited to see him.

After two more stops, Gandhi will travel to Wayanad where he will spend the night and on Saturday morning he will resume his road shows. On Sunday, he will fly back from Kozhikode to Delhi.

I still believe Rahul can be a great leader. And he should not back down because of election defeat.
He must stick to growth/jobs for youth/harmony within the country/stronger India as agenda.
Start re-building the party from ground up with complete re-haul of party leaders.

I am a staunch believer in Vajpayeeji's philiosphy/agenda, however we as ordinary citizens whould not become fans of any one political party, rather must evaluate these parties based on simple criteria - Growth/Harmony/Jobs/Stronger foreign policy. In that respect I value Rahul as he does not carry any excess baggage like present day leaders - divisive politics, communal disharmony and stunted growth.

Lets give BJP another 5 years ( Which they already got) lets see how they perform.
Also in india we must use paper ballots and not EVM's as there are clear evidences of it being manipulated/hacked, And then I am sure people mandate cannot be manipulated. One example, Bangalore local body elections congress won 500 + seats and paradoxically same city voted BJP with huge margins...…...raises lot of doubts????

The day RaGa announced that he would be contesting from Waynad, rest of Indians slowly distanced themselves from the 125 year old Grand party. After masquerading as a Janeu Dhari Brahmin , proclaiming himself to be a Shiv Bakth ,eventually discovering that he is from the Dattatreya Gotra in the past years and suddenly going to Wayanad of all the places raised doubts among Indians. This move dented his vote bank and was the main reason for the loss in rest of the constituencies. The people decided this when they saw his campaigning videos in this Kerala town. The attire, the flags , the slogans nailed Raul Vinci Khan big time exposing his true colours. There is no need to call BJP or any other party communal.

Failure in electoral politics should not dishearten leaders. Take it as a lesson to identify traitors within the congress who betrayed the party in MP , Rajasthan etc . The failure of alignment in UP & Karnataka is a lesson for future decision making. No Quo vadis in abdicating the Congress Presidentship. Rethink and reassure yourself you CAN make it to the goal post.

Ameti is not developed. Rural areas in Ameti is not in good condition. The reason Smriti won is she visited Ameti more than 50 times and implemented many schemes. She restarted Gun manufacturing company. Dalits and OBC's are property of Congress, BSP,SP and they are voting BJP.

    People,

CONgress got 10 Crore votes in 2019 Parliament elections....BJPeee got 20 Crore....10 Crore votes is not a small achievement ....

But seat wise CONgress 52 and BJPee 303....

Electoral politics is not pure maths...like Deve Gowda realized recently in Tumkur and Mayavati and Akhilesh in UP...

I don't like CONgress and its 'COMMISSON CULTURE'....however in my opinion CONgress and Rahul fought 2019 elections valiantly...

In politics reaping political fruits takes time... Rahul should be patient and wait for his time... and it will come....and compulsorily retire good for nothing and unproductive leaders like Kamal Nath, Gehlot and others like Oscar and Moily... these guys are POLITICAL PARASITES.....

    ...Tak...Takk...
