Washington, Jun 13: Technology has always found ways to surprise us. Sometime in July, Indians travelling to New York possibly could avail air cab service from John F Kennedy airport to Lower Manhattan. It has been referred to as ‘Uber Copter’ services and is said to cost around $200 to $225.

Uber is aiming at providing efficient travel to the passenger and thereby significantly reduce the time of commute from two hours to barely 30 minutes.

The copter will have room for over four passengers and will allow one bag per person. This project has been marginally considered after seeing the increase in the number of Indians travelling to America.

The passenger will have the option to choose the sky port via the Uber app. The Uber cab will take the passenger to the sky port and from the skyport, he/she will fly to the airport or to Lower Manhattan.

Uber Elevate Summit in Washington discussed the possibilities of including the prospective countries for this project. Around last year, Eric Allison, Head of Uber Elevate, was in talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the same. It seems that there are few other countries who are being considered as well; Brazil, Australia, France and Japan. The countries will be selected only after taking into account their market factors, environmental conditions, policies and regulations and infrastructure.

Melbourne has already received a green signal in this regard. The air services in the city will commence in the year 2020.
