Congress to skip all-party meeting called by Modi

New Delhi, Jun 19 (IANS): Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi said on Wednesday that his party will not attend the all-party meeting called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the 'one nation, one election' proposal.

Gogoi, MP, told the media in Parliament: "As far as I know, our party is not attending the meeting."

Modi and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on Sunday invited Presidents of all political parties with representation in Parliament on June 19 and members from both Houses on June 20 to interact and exchange views with the government.

Besides the Congress, leaders of many other opposition parties are also likely to skip the meeting called by Modi.

These include DMK President M.K. Stalin, Telugu Desam Party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, Nationalist Congress Party leader Sharad Pawar and Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The nation has given a clear mandate to BJP of 300 MP's and i do not understand why they still ask for meeting with the other parties as they are even not the opposition. BJP should bring the law and pass it as "one Nation one poll", beef ban in India, Building Ram temple, repealing article 370 and 35 A. builidng wall between india-pakistan, india - banglades. Relocation of the capital from Delhi as it is polluted etc etc. Just pass the laws and quick and no waiting for passing as once the parliament passes then even Supreme court cannot interfere. BJP has the full power now and there is no need for prolonging. We require the government to act and pass the laws and not delay it telling opposition is not agreeing. There is no opposition at all as the 60% of the nations people have voted for BJP and it is a mandate given by the people. If trump can change the immigation laws , tariff laws at a stroke of pen why not our prime minister

People have relegated these politicians to irrelevance in the General Elections. By keeping away from the meeting, they will only be confirming that they are irrelevant.

Congress should behave maturely. It should come out of the shock of this debacle and move on.
Modi himself said do not bother about numbers in the parliament, but participate actively.

But who started behaved like uncultured chanting unwanted slogan against the oppostion MP while oath taking?

What congress wants prove?..Why they are hiding from their failures?

If they want to be part of Indian politics they need to act smartly by sitting in opposition
