Panaji, Jun 22: Since the arrival of monsoon, there is considerable fall in temperature in Goa with maximum temperature touching 28 degree celsius mark in some parts of the state, Indian Meteorological Department said on Saturday.
The monsoon arrived in Goa on Thursday with light to heavy rains occurring at most places over the state, IMD bulletin has said.
“There was marked fall in maximum temperature and they were below normal over North and South Goa district of the state,” the department said.
“There was no large change in minimum temperature and they were normal over north and south Goa districts of the state. The highest maximum temperature of 28 degree celsius was recorded at Panjim (North Goa) and Mormugao (South Goa).
“The lowest minimum temperature of 24 degree celcius was recorded at Panaji and Mormugao,” IMD said.
The department has predicted that light to moderate rain and thundershower is likely to occur at most place over North and South Goa for next five days.
IMD has said that heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in both the districts.
