Mangaluru, Jun 23: Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) has urged the city police commissioner to take action against those who allegedly burst crackers and celebrated while taking away cattle in Jokatte. They alleged that this was done with the intention of creating communal unrest.
In a letter addressed to the police commissioner on June 22, VHP has stated that Panambur station police had found 23 cattle dumped in inhuman manner near Jokatte on June 4 and arrested several suspects including Mohammed Haneef Guddemane in this connection. The police had handed over the cattle seized by them to Pajir Govanitashraya Goshale. But suspects Mohammed Haneef Guddemane and 25 others took away the cattle on orders from court on June 21. Some people gathered at Jokatte, burst fire crackers, recorded video, sent it in social network and celebrated.

‘The suspects are also trying to spoil communal harmony. VHP condemns the act, urges for legal action against those who are trying to create communal unrest and to get back the cattle that was taken away through the court order’ the statement says.
The court order was obtained on the basis of fake documents
VHP has stated that the suspects had created false documents that they were taking away the cattle for rearing and produced them in the court. VHP has expressed apprehensions that the 21 cattle might have been taken away for slaughter.
VHP has also urged police to consider the incident seriously, bring the records of bursting crackers to the attention of the court and take action to get back the cattle.
