New Delhi, Jun 25: On Monday, soldiers of the Indian Army were warned against a potential enemy spy who they believe is targeting officers of the Indian army and special forces’ troops.
The directorate of Military Intelligence, in an advisory issued to its personnel, suggested that the 'duplicitous credentials' of the social media profiles of ‘Gujjar Soumya’ on Facebook and ‘Oyesomya’ on Instagram have claimed the attention of the Indian army. They believe that these profiles are being used by a suspected spy targeting gullible personnel in an attempt to acquire classified information.
The advisory read, 'She (Gujjar Soumya) claims to be the sister of late Captain Pawan Kumar. She claims to be currently studying as a research scholar in IIT Bombay and that she has cleared IIT JEE 2016 and NTSE 2014'.

The advisory further claims that these profiles are potentially being used by inimical agencies to gain classified information from gullible personnel by making intrusions into their social media accounts.
A soldier who was honey trapped on social media was found sharing sensitive information and pictures of his location and army exercises with agents of ISI, Pakistan spy agency. He was arrested in January on being caught.
Sepoy Somveer Singh was the soldier in question. He was posted in the Armoured Corps in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan.
