Mangaluru, Jun 29: Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and Hindu Jagarana Vedike will hold joint mass protests on July 3 in Mangaluru, Moodbidri, Bantwal, Beltangady, Puttur, Kadaba, Sullia of Dakshina Kannada district and Karkala, Kundapur, Udupi and Kaup in Udupi district on July 3 from 10.30 am and 12 pm urging for protection of cattle.

The organizations in a joint press release stated that cattle thefts, illegal transport of cattle, illegal slaughterhouses and illegal slaughter of cattle are in progress in the coastal region. “Cattle are being transported in the cruellest manner and cattle are killed freely in illegal slaughterhouses. Cattle thieves entering houses and stealing cows has increased manifold. As the district administration has failed to prevent them, farmers and people indulging in animal husbandry are anxious. There is an atmosphere of fear in the districts.”

“There is a Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in the district of which the deputy commissioner is the president. Illegal cattle transport and cattle slaughters are in progress in the district as the society has completely failed. The DC should make it function for protection of cattle so that the guidelines are implemented.”

“Illegal slaughterhouses are the cause of severe increase in illegal cattle traffic. There is a legal slaughterhouse in Kudroli and as per RTI act, between ten to twelve cattle are slaughtered there per day. But there are more than one thousand beef stalls in the district. That much meat is supplied to them by illegal slaughterhouses. There are illegal slaughterhouses in Kudroli Yasinmandi, Surathkal Jokatte, Kannur, Chombugudde in Ullal, Mukkacheri, Kelagina Pete, Bajpe, Suralpadi, Moodbidri, Belthangady, Uppinangady and several places in Puttur. The DC should get those identified and closed,” stated the news release.

VHP, Bajrang Dal and HJV have called on Hindu organizations, cattle lovers and social organizations to participate in the protests and make them a success.

This planned protest seems to be another conspiracy to start 'Communal violence' with the fast approaching Muslim festival of 'Bakrid'.

For VHP, Bajrang Dal, HJV cattle has more importance than the 300 children' dying in Bihar without basic health care facilities. Most part of the nation is under severe droughts, like many humans, even cattle are seen on the roads looks living skeleton.

If VHP, Bajrang Dal, HJV worship cow as 'Gau Mata' with divinity, then write an open letter to the PM Modi and Union Minister of Agriculture and Trade to stop all 'Beef exports' within India within 48 hours. The letter should be made public in national media. If the central government fails to act then this protesting party will self immolate to protest 'Gau Mata'?

These protests should be immediately be stopped by the Congi cadres in the region. Where are they,? Sleeping??????????? Repeating my previous comment again. Guys Guys it time now. The Congress - JDS party with all its leaders, and the lacs of voters and supporters led by Mithun Rai should hold a massive protest to counter this protest. Besides this there are other common man issues to be addressed as well. It should always happen in one platform and on a periodical basis. Only then can you think of Cong revival in the region. If not just forget it and relax . Mangalore has turned to be a strong fort for BJP.

Sorry Thomas, Mithun Rai will not follow on the steps of Ramanath Rai.
However, your comment only shows that you are insensitive to the sentiments of many people. Stealing cows should stop and that's it. It is not political, it is poor policing against some people bent upon on thieving.
