Panaji, Jun 30: Goa is all set to host the 2019 European Film Festival. The Cinephile Film Club of the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) in collaboration with the European External Action Service (EEAS), Directorate of Film Festival and the union Ministry Of Information and Broadcasting is organising the 24th European Union Film Festival. Daulat Hawaldar Goa state finance secretary, will be inaugurating the film festival on July 4 at 6 pm in the presence of deputy head of EEAS, Raimund Magis.
As reported in TOI, a total of 23 films will be screened over a period of 15 days and the festival is open to general public, seating availability would be on a first come first serve basis. The movies will be screened at Auditorium 1, Maquinez Palace, ESG Complex, Panaji at 5.30 pm and 7.30 pm. ‘Diamantino’ a Portugal movie Directed by Gabriel Abrantes and Daniel Schmidtwhich
is the opening film in the festival. The film which talks the journey of a footballer has won several laurels including two awards at the Cannes film festival in 2018.
