Hair-raising CCTV footage shows family of four robbed at gunpoint

New Delhi, Jul 1: The robbery which took place on an intervening Saturday and Sunday night, in an affluent neighbourhood of Delhi has stunned people. A family was terrorized when three masked men robbed them at gunpoint. A CCTV footage captured the entire incident where the masked men can be seen demanding the family to hand over their valuables.

The men were already stationed outside the victim’s house and were waiting his return. Varun Bahl, the victim, can be seen parking his Mercedes and heading to close the gate while being jumped upon by the robbers. The CCTV footage showed the wife, frantically trying to send an SOS just as one of the three men walked upto her side of the car and demanded valuables from her. According to the family the third man also demanded that the wife hand over her phone, which she had hid under the car seat.

The men managed to run away with the wallet containing Rs 19,000 and a gold bracelet from Bahl and a mobile phone from Bahl’s wife.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (northwest), Vijayanta Arya, the victim did not register the case immediately instead reported it later in the day when the crime took place.

A patrolling car of Adarsh Nagar police station apparently found the behaviour of the three men suspicious and intercepted them following which, the three men fired shots and fled from the spot. The officials have already registered a case and are keen on arresting the accused.
