Moodbidri: Miscreants break open lock, enter Saavira Kambada Basadi

Moodbidri, Jul 2: It has transpired that unknown people gained entry into the famous Saavira Kambada Basadi here on the night of Monday July 1 by breaking open its lock.

The thieves entered the Basadi by breaking open the lock of the front door. They broke open the donation box inside the Basadi and tried to steal other things.

Sri Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Pandithacharyavarya Swamiji has urged the government to investigate into the incident suitably.

Deputy commissioner of police (crime), Laxmi Ganesh, assistant commissioner of police (north division), Srinivas Gowda and in-charge police inspector here, Anantha Padmanabha, visited the spot and guided the investigation.

    Few years back (as i remember it was 2 years) there was a theft in SAAVIRA KAMBA BASADI, the idols were stolen and the same were recovered in BIHAR after few months. Looking in to this, Trustees should have installed CCTV. Its seems irresponsibility by the Management committee.

    Well the donation money can be forgotten, but the priceless idoles and manuscripts has to be protected at any cost.
    Temple premises is highly revered by everyone and every religion. its saddening and hurtful when something like this happens.
