Man smuggling gold worth Rs 24.87 lac arrested at Kannur airport

Kasargod, Jul 4: The customs officers at Kannur International Airport arrested a man after they found him smuggling gold. 

Muhammed Mufeed, a resident of Malppuram, is the person arrested. He arrived in Kannur airport from Sharjah. He was carrying 926 grams of gold, of which he had converted 731 grams into paste and stuffed it into his rectum. 

However, he could not succeed in his attempt as alert officers caught him and seized the gold. The gold is valued at Rs 24.87 lac. 

A case stands registered against Muhammed Mufeed. 

The customs officials and police are probing the case.
