Mangaluru: Puttur gang rape - Khader says matter discussed with Women's Commission

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jul 5: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, U T Khader, said that the Puttur gang rape case is a blot on the reputation of Dakshina Kannada district. He said that it is the duty of everyone to strive to maintain the reputation of the district.

Khader stated that the gang rape of a lady at Puttur and its video having gone viral has been taken up with Karnataka State Women's Commission, and discussions were also held with the commission. He said that talking big does not serve any purpose and that the people should get to work to maintain high moral standards and decency in public life. Such acts alone can be construed as patriotic, he felt.

"This is an inhuman act which deserves to be condemned by one and all. I have already held discussions on the issue with police officers and chairperson of Women's Commission, Nagalakshmi," he explained. He expressed the view that the perpetrators of this crime should face stringent punishment and sought support of everyone in making sure that the girl concerned gets justice.

He added that the matter would be brought to the notice of the chairman of SC/ST Commission and the matter would be discussed in detail.

Out of eight persons arrested for making the above video viral, five were produced before the first class judicial magistrate's court on Thursday evening, upon which they were remanded to a day's judicial custody. Puttur deputy superintendent of police, Dinakar Shetty, said that the other three accused would be produced before the judge at night. The judge remanded the accused to a day's judicial custody as the assistant public prosecutor was not present on Thursday as objections or arguments have to be heard before bail petitions can be disposed off.

The five main accused who were arrested relating to gang rape were remanded to judicial custody till July 18 after they were produced in the residence of the fifth additional district and sessions court on Thursday evening.

I am really feeling sad for my Hindu sister who went through this pain by those 5 demons.
I know most of my Hindu/Muslim/ Christian brother’s hearts must have cried after listening to this heinous crime.
I do not want to paint this matter with religious color.
All I want is unity between all the religion and fight against these kind of acts and protect women.
Education should be based on the main principle, that is “Discipline”.
Without discipline the education that most of the colleges these days impart has no value in my eyes.
Education system has turned into money making business, that’s the reason why most of the students have turned animals.
Let’s go back a few decades. when we were in college, these kind of activities never took place. Why??
Because our parents and also our teachers tried their best to make us a “Disciplined Student” and guess what they were 100% successful.

I openly blame the modern day parenting and the education system for these crimes.

Think of it in a positive sense.
We draw lines when it comes to Babri masjid and RamMandir by talking ill about one another.
Now let us erase those lines by uniting when something inhuman in happening to the daughter of this nation.
