Mangaluru: Illegal redstone quarry raided - Machines, lorries worth Rs 31 lac seized

Mangaluru, Jul 5: Mangaluru north sub-division anti rowdy police squad raided an illegal redstone quarry and seized four machines, four loaded lorries and stones together worth about 31 lac. 

ACP Srinivas R Gowda led squad, which received definite information of illegal redstone quarry being run at Padamale, Badagamijar village and Manjanabail village by Joachim Correa and Hemachandra Jagadish, conducted the raid. 

The value of four machines and four lorries is about Rs 30,60,000. The value of redstones loaded in the lorries, is about Rs 60 thousand. 

 

The operation was conducted by Moodbidri station police sub-inspector Dejappa and north sub-division anti rowdy police squad staff ASI Mohammed, Kushala Maniani, Vijay Kanchan, Sathish M, Isaq, Sharan Kali and Moodbidri police station staff Shivaraj, Bande Navaz and Moodbidri station police on directions and guidance from their senior police officials.

    Govt employees know they can get away with the law...maximum penalty is they will be temporarily suspended or transferred....no big deal for them as they will never be permanently fired from their jobs.
