Mangaluru, Jul 7: Deeptika Putran, a power lifter from here, had tweeted to union sports minister, Kiren Rijiju, informing him that she would be taking part in Commonwealth Power Lifting Championship scheduled to be held in September this year. She explained that she is badly in need of monetary assistance and requested the union sports minister to help her to improve her achievements in the field of sports.

Rijiju responded to this tweet, duly informing her that as per a policy decision, financial assistance is extended only to former sports persons who are leading a retired life. He said that this pension is limited to those who have won international medals. Therefore, he said he had already asked Sports Authority of India team to contact her.

Jossy now you know the difference between BJP Govt and Khangress Govt. She knows State Govt will not respond so she directly approached MODI Govt. That shows all general public have faith in Central Govt under MODI and that is the reason why BJP got a thumping majority in the recent Election.

What makes you say Congress wouldn't have assisted the said powerlifter and ONLY bjp will?
Prior 2014, Twitter, FB, wasn't famous and people didn't have internet access. The fact that it's prevalent now is the reason why this UM minister is able to connect to the common people. Had it been a Congress UM, he/she would have responded too.
Also, many are responding now because of fear of criticism and secondly for becoming a popular party person.
