Mississauga, Jul 8: On Saturday, protesters gathered at the Mississauga Celebration Square to voice their opinions against the conversion of Hindu minor girls in Pakistan. The protesters had more of Hindus from Sindhi community demanding justice for the forcibly converted young girls.
To get the young girls converted, they are kidnapped and threatened with rape. In order to prevent this ghastly act, protest is held to assert pressure on Pakistani government to take action against the criminals responsible for the act.
A case reported two girls belonging to backward community abducted by people from Kohbar and Malik tribes on March 21, only to be later converted. In another case, a young Hindu girl was reported forcibly converted by getting married to a Muslim man.
Indian government has also reached out to the Imran Khan government, to ensure the safety of the citizens and overlook such sensitive matters.
The placards held by the protesters read, "Stop forced conversion of minor Hindu girls in Pakistan," "Stop the persecution of religious minorities in Pakistan," "Pakistan stop kidnapping of Hindu girls, stop forced conversion of Hindu girls." The protest in Canada is second of its kind taking place in a matter of three months.
