London, May 27: "Slumdog Millionaire" director Danny Boyle is flying to India to rescue the film's child stars.
The British filmmaker fears the lives of slum kids Azhar Ismail (10) and Rubina Ali (9) are spiralling downwards despite their Oscars success, reported thesun.co.uk.
A 500,000 pounds trust was set up to provide them schooling and apartments, but a source said: "Their lives do not appear to be any better."
Recently, both the kids were thrown on the streets after Mumbai civic authorities demolished nearly 50 shanties in a slum, terming them unauthorised.
