Amritsar, Jul 12: A hospital opened a rehabilitation centre in  Amritsar, Punjab. The centre consists of seven members, including the psychiatrist, pharmacists, and social, occupational and family counsellors. The centre will deal in helping the individuals who are addicted to smartphones.

Dr Jag Deep Pal Bhatia, a neuropsychiatric believes that mobile addiction is one of the most harmful addictions anyone can have as in the present times one can see a lot of kids isolating themselves just so that they can use mobile phones. The addiction of extreme levels can lead to distress affecting the mental health drastically.

Dr Bhatia, states that the reason for setting up the centre against mobile addiction was because several parents in and around Punjab visited him out of concern for their children who are addicted to mobile phones.

One of the parents who enrolled her kid to the de-addiction program said,"My son uses phone all day, he forgets to eat and does not go out to play with other kids. When I try to take away the phone from him he gets angry and starts crying." She urged parents to spend time with kids rather than on the phone as the kids have a tendency to adopt ways of living as that of the parents.

This addiction is picked up by the kids from their mothers.

Many stay-at-home mothers spend hours on the mobile phone.

The kids then do the same.

So, in my opinion, the de-addition centres must admit both the kid and the mother at the same time.
