Mangalore, May 29: One can only wonder what mistakes could she have possibly made.
Krithika Shenoy, a student of Sharada Vidyalaya, Mangalore has scored a whopping 98 percent marks in her CBSE Grade 10 Exams. Her total marks stood at 490 out of 500. She scored an astonishing 100 percent marks in Social Science and repeated the feat in her second language – Sanskrit. She got 99 in Mathematics, an unbelievable 97 in English and a 94 in Science.
Speaking to Daijiworld, a jubilant and beaming Krithika still cannot believe the scores she got. “I had put in a lot of effort this year but 98% was a pleasant surprise for me…deep inside, I am yet to come to terms with my result” she says.
Ask her which subject was her favourite and she replies “It was mathematics that I was passionate about but I still missed scoring 100 by one mark!” It is but natural to ask such an achiever about secret formulas and prep techniques. But all one can extract out of the young girl is a very simple answer – “I owe my success to my teachers and parents”.
The girl who seems shy and not wanting to gather any media attention to bask in any sort of glory already has a plan outlined for the future. Krithika wants to pursue architecture as that fascinates her, but at the same time like a good daughter she says she will keep options open to follow the profession of her parents. Both Damodar and Rathika Shenoy, Krithika’s parents are doctors and are extremely proud of the feat achieved by their daughter.
In the CBSE results that were announced on Monday for the Chennai, Ajmer and Panchukula regions the toppers Akshaya Rangarajan from Chennai , Abhishek Gupta and Anmol Chavan from Bangalore secured 98.2 percent which is just one mark more when compared to Krithika’s result. (Reports also suggest that a student of Little Rock School Brahmavar has secured 98%, though this could not be confirmed at the time of filing this report.) Results for the Delhi region and foreign schools are expected on Friday morning.
Though Krithika almost topped an exam that was given by 8, 24,348 students this year she has her feet firmly on the ground and is cautious not to feel on top of the world already. Humble and modest – this topper has a long way to go !
