Tweeple congratulate ISRO for 'flawless' Chandrayaan-2 launch

New Delhi, Jul 22 (IANS): Twitterati on Monday celebrated the "flawless" launch of 'Bahubali' GSLV rocket that successfully put the moon spacecraft -- Chandrayaan-2 -- into the orbit in a copy book style.

According to an ISRO official, the lander Vikram will land on the moon on September 7.

Pictures of ISRO Chief K. Sivan went viral on Instagram, highlighting how a boy born to a humble farmer steered India's second mission to the lunar surface.

"There was a time when US and European agencies refused to help India in technology transfer for space programme. We developed module for #Chandrayaan2 in our country without any help of foreign agencies This makes this journey incredible. #ISRO," a tweet read.

Along with #Chandrayaan2 that has already gathered over 234,000 tweets, other hashtags like #Bahubali, #ISRO, #IndiaMoonMission, #JaiHind and #ProudMoment were trending on the social networking websites.

GIFs showing the rocket propel into the space also flooded under the "most popular" category on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

"Today's launch of #Chandrayaan2 reflects a new India. #ISRO has yet again accomplished a mammoth feat. Salute to the entire @ISRO team. A historic moment for all of us," tweeted Xiaomi India Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain.

"From the land of snake charmers to the moon. Take that rest of the world!" tweeted another user.
