Pankaj Agarwal new Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat


New Delhi, Jul 23 (IANS): The Central government on Monday appointed IAS officer Pankaj Agarwal as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat for a tenure of "five years or until further orders".

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the appointment of the officer at the level of Joint Secretary.

In an executive order, the ACC said: "Appointment of Pankaj Agarwal, IAS (MP:1992), as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Gyanesh Bharti, IAS (UT 1998)...."

The ACC on Monday approved the appointment of 33 officers at the level of Joint Secretary or equivalent rank.
