Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SP)
Bangalore, Jun 8: Reliable sources said that BJP state president D V Sadanand Gowda, frustrated over the recent developments and lack of cooperation from the state chief minister, has offered to throw in his towel. It is learnt, he laid bare his mind in this respect in front of a few top leaders of the party, after rushing here from Puttur on Sunday June 7.
DVS is scheduled to go to New Delhi on Wednesday June 10. It is expected that he will meet national president of the party Rajnath Singh, apprise him of the latest in the state politics and express his intention to resign from his post. However, BJP sources are of the opinion that the party leaders will convince him to continue in the post till his term comes to an end in November this year.
Gowda is also learnt to have been nursing a grouse against chief minister Yeddyurappa, who has been saying in every forum that he does not know about any of the dissident activities and that the party state president would deal with the acts of indiscipline if any. At the same time, Yeddyurappa does not convey any information or message to Gowda. DVS feels let down, as he is not being taken into confidence, nor are his words being taken seriously in the party affairs.
Sources said Yeddyurappa has contacted Mysore former MP C H Vijay Shankar and asked him to be prepared to shoulder additional responsibility. This is an indication of the fact that the chief minister wants to bring a person loyal to him, to the post as replacement for DVS.
DVS confided in some people that when he wanted to issue notice to party leader and minister Eshwarappa, the minister brought it to the notice of the party national president Rajnath Singh, who in turn, advised DVS not do so. He feels to have been tied down by the chief minister and senior leaders on one hand and the RSS leaders on the other. He feels, he has not been able to affectively function as the party's state president because he is not given a free hand, it is gathered.
