Our Loss is your Gain - dear Kannur Airport Customs Officials. Mangalore International Airport used to be in news for wrong reasons like this. Now may be it is your turn, isn't it? Couple of days ago in Mangalore airport too, a case similar to this was reported by Daijieworld.
Is there a way to get the big fish in your net rather than these small ones who feed the big fish. These what are reported are probably just courier boys who transport either Gold or Money. Dear Officials, try to get to the roots of sources from where it comes & where it goes.!!! That could be an interesting information.

Most cases people present relevant documents and get it back
Else it’s kept for a period and goes to treasury

Actually not hefty fine. You are wrong...Just pay duty for gold and then will let you go. Even you bring 1kg gold , the case is same. Just pay duty tax and leave. Else, they will keep hold and bring some politician's and bargain.
