Bhaskar Rao is Bengaluru police commissioner - Alok Kumar transferred

Bengaluru, Aug 2: City police commissioner and additional director general of police Alok Kumar was transferred with immediate effect on Friday, August 2. 

Bhaskar Rao, hitherto serving as the additional director general of police, Karnataka state reserve police, Bengaluru will be replacing Alok Kumar. 

Alok Kumar will be posted as additional director general of police, Karnataka state reserve police, Bengaluru.

As part of the reshuffle, the government of Karnataka also transferred IPS officers Umesh Kumar (Additional commissioner of police, West, Bengaluru City), Hemant N Nimbalkar (Inspector general of Bengaluru police - CID, economic offences wing and cybercrime) , BR Ravikanthe Gowda (Deputy inspector general police - Crime, Bengaluru city), R.Chethan (Davanagere superintendent of police) , D Devaraja (Deputy commissioner of police, central division, Bengaluru city) and M Ashwini (Shivamogga superintendent of police).

    Our constitution is stupid. It had given way too much power to politicians, who are misusing it. It is time transfers of officers is stopped and they can function freely. There should be no transfers, only suspension if an officer is useless or guilty of corruption.
