Bengaluru, Aug 4: Former chief minister and leader of Congress Legislature Party, Siddaramaiah, accused chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa of bringing the administration of the state to a standstill by not forming the cabinet.

Siddaramaiah ridiculed Yediyurappa through a series of tweets in which he said that Yediyurappa is not showing the same urgency in expanding his cabinet that he showed while becoming the chief minister of the state.

Siddaramaiah said, "The situation in the state is grim due to drought and floods. Administration has completely stalled. Is this democracy or autocracy?"

Accusing CM Yediyurappa of showing more interest in transferring officials rather than inducting ministers in his cabinet, Siddaramaiah said, "There is no ministers to respond to the drought and flood situation in the state as the vital departments of revenue, agriculture and rural development do not have ministers."

Holding the Governor Vajubhai Vala also responsible for the current situation, Siddaramaiah said, "The Governor who was sending message after message during the confidence motion's progress in the Assembly is not seeing the suffering of people of the state due to one-man state cabinet."

Earlier, chief minister B S Yediyurappa had defended the decision of BJP in delaying the formation of cabinet. He is expected to meet national president of BJP Amit Shah in Delhi early next week for the finalization of names of ministers for the cabinet formation.

In a tweet, Dinesh Gundu Rao, president of KPCC said, "Cabinet formation is nowhere in sight. It seems the autocratic regime of CM B S Yediyurappa will continue for many more days to come."
